Each celebrant-led funeral is as special as the life being honoured, as it creates an opportunity to shine light on the unique character of the individual – the things that will make their story live on in the hearts and minds of their loved ones.
How Does it Work?
In discussion with your funeral planner, simply indicate that you would like a celebrant to lead your service rather than clergy. The celebrant will set aside time to meet with the family to gather stories and memories and learn about the life of the deceased. During that important meeting, the celebrant and family members will also discuss specific elements of the service such as music choices, readings, and ceremony. On the day of the funeral the celebrant will lead the service, delivering a meaningful and personal tribute.
Consider these questions as you plan for a funeral service:
- Where will the end-of-life service take place?
- How might family members be included in the service?
- Are there significant songs or readings to be included?
- What faith-based elements (if any) are important to the deceased and/or the family?
